National Guard recognizes Knodel as Patriotic Employer

The South Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognized a local man as a patriotic employer for this outstanding support of his employee’s military participation Dec. 15, 2010 in Freeman, S.D.

Kelly Knodel, owner of Knodel Contractors was recognized as a Patriotic Employer for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by sporting his employees, Sgt. 1st Class Scott Andal’s and Pfc.

“I nominated Kelly, because he is extremely flexible with my schedule allowing me to fulfill my military obligation,” said Schmidt.

During the award ceremony Knodel signed a Statement of Support which pledged that Knodel Contractors:

Fully recognizes, honors and enforces the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

Our managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

We will continually recognized and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crisis, and in war.

“Giving my support (to my employees who serve in the military) is the right thing to do, said Knodel. “They make a lot of sacrifices for us.”
